Feelin Crafty

My sister-in-law, Tara gave me this old window. At first I had no idea what I wanted to use it for. The paint was white and dirty and peeling. So the nice wife I am, I asked Dustin to sand off the white paint for me...which took FOREVER!!! It was hard to get off, and then I put crackle stuff on the wood and painted it an orange color and here is how it turned out. I also made a burlap wreath to hang in front of it.
In the process

Halloween!!!

It's almost Halloween! I forced Dustin to carve pumpkins with me. I don't like the gooey slimy feeling of the insides of the pumpkins...but I did it anyway. I thought mine turned out pretty well. Nothing special, just the average normal looking pumpkin. I thought I did well carving out the eyes and teeth. It's hard carving pumpkins, and then Dustin obviously out did my pumpkin. He is a natural professional pumpkin carver. We put them outside our door and they look fabulous! Maybe we'll get lots of trick-or-treaters!

HOOT! HOOT!

This is my first post! Might be boring, but at least I have started a blog. I've started a new craft/project that I have been enjoying. I've started crocheting baby hats. Many people make fun of me, saying I'm an old grandma wearing my glasses and crocheting on the couch :) I want to do regular hats and also make different animals. So far I have two owls done for little boys. They are a lot of work! But I think they have definitely turned out cute!! I love the little newborn hats, they are so tiny and adorable. So if you or a friend are in need of a hat....get a hold of me, I'd love to sell one to you!
