Gray, Black and Purple

Dustin and I finally got a bed spread for the bed he built me! Any time I would pick one out, it was too girly or he just didn't like it. When he would find one he liked, it was too plain or masculine for me. Finally, we agreed on one! We decided we wanted one with gray and black and maybe some white. We found this one that we like but I wanted to add more color to it. I decided to do dark purple, and I found this ruffled dark purple pillow and some dark purple curtains at TJ Maxx that i loved! When I brought it home Dustin said, "Are you putting that on the bed???" Haha, he doesn't like it, but I do, so of course it is staying. The curtains were extremely long! So I used my wonderful sewing skills and cut off the curtains and made an extra pillow for the bed. It turned out pretty well I think.

Dustin says that since I get my ruffled pillow, he gets to keep
his pillow pal on the bed too. At least it kind of has the right colors :)

Feelin Crafty

My sister-in-law, Tara gave me this old window. At first I had no idea what I wanted to use it for. The paint was white and dirty and peeling. So the nice wife I am, I asked Dustin to sand off the white paint for me...which took FOREVER!!! It was hard to get off, and then I put crackle stuff on the wood and painted it an orange color and here is how it turned out. I also made a burlap wreath to hang in front of it.
In the process

                                                                           Finished!

And my newest hat I've crocheted!

Halloween!!!

It's almost Halloween! I forced Dustin to carve pumpkins with me. I don't like the gooey slimy feeling of the insides of the pumpkins...but I did it anyway. I thought mine turned out pretty well. Nothing special, just the average normal looking pumpkin. I thought I did well carving out the eyes and teeth. It's hard carving pumpkins, and then Dustin obviously out did my pumpkin. He is a natural professional pumpkin carver. We put them outside our door and they look fabulous! Maybe we'll get lots of trick-or-treaters!

HOOT! HOOT!

This is my first post! Might be boring, but at least I have started a blog. I've started a new craft/project that I have been enjoying. I've started crocheting baby hats. Many people make fun of me, saying I'm an old grandma wearing my glasses and crocheting on the couch :) I want to do regular hats and also make different animals. So far I have two owls done for little boys. They are a lot of work! But I think they have definitely turned out cute!! I love the little newborn hats, they are so tiny and adorable. So if you or a friend are in need of a hat....get a hold of me, I'd love to sell one to you!
